Wilhelmina Cornish is co-owner of A & W Management
Company, a residential property management company. She
manages administrative operations, tenant care, and
marketing for the company.
She holds a Master of Science in Management from Indiana
Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology
(cum
laude) from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES).
She is a graduate of a six-month Leadership Development
Forum and has received Advanced Alumni Fundraising Training
from The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.
Wilhelmina is a Certified Curriculum Development Facilitator
and has facilitated
a number of curriculum development workshops which provided
the foundation for
community college courses and certification programs. She
has expertise in workforce
development; continuing education program/course development;
business development;
fundraising; marketing and promotions; and administrative
operations.
She is also a Certified Diversity Trainer with special
emphasis in women’s issues.
She envisions using this certification to help fulfill
her passion of providing mentoring,
motivation, education and support services to females of
all ages. She has mentored
young girls in the areas of self esteem, self image, and
self respect and has tutored youth
in reading and writing.
Wilhelmina has been dedicated to community service for
many years. Her service
includes: Immediate Past President of the UMES Washington
Metro Area Alumni
Chapter; Past President of the Holmehurst Homeowners Association;
Community
Relations Committee Chair for the Winterset Civic Association;
Past Chair of the Youth
Advisory Council for the 70001 Training and Employment
Program; Enterprise Road
Corridor Commissioner; and Foundation Fundraising Committee
Member, Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority, Inc. She is affiliated with the Professional
Woman Network, the American
Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and the
Southern Poverty Law Center.
Authoring a chapter in this book fulfills another of
Wilhelmina’s
passions…writing.
Wilhelmina hails from Maryland but currently resides in
Louisville, Kentucky.
