Oscar Ongeri is Founder and Principal Consultant of the
Market Cosmos, an international firm that specializes in
business planning, internal control consulting, business
coaching and training services that are tailored to client's
business, challenges, and people. He is an alumnus
of the big 4 public accounting firm where he performed various
consulting assignments for major Fortune 500 and fast growing
companies in cross cultural environments. He is a Certified
Public Accountant (K), Certified Internal Auditor and MBA
in business. He is also a Certified Professional Coach.
In the past 10 years he has widely travelled within North
America, Asia, Europe and Africa, on engagements where
he has worked on various projects and consulting assignments.
Among his major accomplishments, he has most recently developed
a risk management and response framework designed to help
a fast growing manufacturing company manage growth in a
responsible
way. The framework has been utilized to start operations
in India, Korea, Spain, Ukraine and Portugal. In 2007,
he developed and implemented Internal Control procedures
that
helped the company save over 40% of its compliance costs
in one year. Under his leadership the company has consistently
received clean independent auditor reviews on internal
controls over financial reporting.
Oscar understands business right from the grass roots to
the board room. This unique talent is supported by his
prior experiences where he worked for an international not-for-
profit organization funded by the US government to help
women
groups build self sustaining micro enterprises in Africa.
In this role, he was responsible for developing business
plans, coaching, building efficient supply chains and distribution
networks as well as carrying out of business management
training for the Directors of the newly created businesses.
He also
participated in grant writing and project evaluation assignments.
On community service, he has served as Board Member of
the International Center of Indianapolis and Director of
the
Finance Committee of his local church in Indianapolis where
he presided over major capital improvement projects.
