Rev. Darlene Robinson is an Elder in the East Ohio Conference
of the United Methodist Church. She is a native of Youngstown,
Ohio. She graduated high school in 1978 from The Rayen School
where she earned the esteemed honor of being class Valedictorian.
Darlene was given a standing ovation after completion of
her Valedictorian speech. Rev. Robinson graduated from Malone
College in Canton, Ohio in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Management.
Following a call from God upon her life, Darlene
pursued a seminary degree and during those years she was
recognized as a Crusade Scholar of the United Methodist Church
by the General Board of Global Ministries in 1997. Rev. Robinson
graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio
in 2001 with a Master of Divinity degree. She was given the
Spiritual Formation award for the Cleveland Campus of Ashland
Seminary also in 2001. Rev. Robinson was married to the late
Rev. Dennis Alexander Robinson for 21 years. They were blessed
with three sons, Dasan, David and Dennis Albert. Her mother,
Emma Robinson, also resides in her home.
She began her pastoral
ministry with an interim appointment during the summer of
2001 at Vincent United Methodist Church in Elyria, Ohio.
She was then appointed in September of 2001 to serve in a
shared ministry as the pastor of 2 churches in Lorain, Ohio.
Their names were Faith and Emmanuel United Methodist Churches.
She remained at both churches until the Emmanuel church merged
with three other United Methodist Churches within the city
of Lorain. In addition to pastoring the Faith Church, she
then became one of three pastors on staff at the newly merged
Lighthouse United Methodist Church. Currently Rev. Robinson
serves as pastor to Cove United Methodist Church in Lakewood,
Ohio. She was appointed there in July of 2008. Darlene and
family currently reside in Elyria, Ohio.
